Myros - Trade

There are a few isolated patches of civilization that survived the Carrion Lords’ first assault, but they are separated by vast stretches of once-settled wilderness that was lost during the first Rising. While the undead legions of the Carrion Lords were driven back (until recently, at least), the forces of humans and other sentient races were unable to hold all of the territory between their settlements and the front; as they retreated to their strongholds, other corrupt forces – orcs, goblins, kobolds, bandits, giants, trolls and worse – have taken root. Although these fell creatures provide something of a buffer against the Carrion Lords’ return, they make overland trade virtually impossible; all major trade is waterborne.

Teleportation circles exist between Atherton and Varos, and between Nur and Varos. The circles are used almost exclusively for mercantile purposes, and are controlled by prominent merchant houses in their respective cities. The Clans of Clurgan destroyed their circles, while the ritual settings for cicles in Lildarien and the Ebomok lands have been lost to humankind.
